SNMA @ UC CoM Programs:

LAST UPdATED: 10/20/2010

1. End Zone Club Tutoring

This volunteer activity affords CoM students a chance to work with underprivileged children in science and math topics. The tutoring students are bussed in from across the city to MSB where students work with them every Saturday from 10am to 12pm. Volunteers are encouraged to maintain a consistent schedule in the interests of the student they are working with during the year though some absences are acceptable.

End Zone Club Mission Statement: To provide students with the knowledge and skills required for post-high school education and help them become critical thinkers and life-long learners with the ethics required for producive employment and responsible citizenship in their local and global communities.

If you’re interested, sign up and check out the schedule for EndZone tutoring!

2. MAPS (Minority Association of Premedical Students)

MAPS works closely with premedical undergraduates providing mentorship, guidance, and corroboration to help the next generation of minority physicians realize their goals.

MAPS represents the undergraduate and post-baccalaureate students of SNMA. MAPS members are considered national Associate members and make up about one third of SNMA’s 5000 count membership. Associate members are eligible for most all SNMA national benefits.

MAPS chapters are spread throughout the country at over 150 undergraduate institutions. They are well integrated into SNMA’s infrastructure, participating in regional and national events. MAPS chapter are self-governing under the guidance of regional and national bylaws. There are several entities within SNMA dedicated to the needs of pre-medical students
